It’s the third time in the last 10 years of coaching I run the swimming summer basketball program for young basketball players.
Schools lessons and basketball games have been over for a long time.
Thanks to the use of the swimming pool, young athletes can have a significant impact on their physical, mental and psychological well-being.
Contact with water through swimming sets the right foundation for maintaining good physical fitness in the subsequent winter games. Workout in the water is mild but also beneficial for young basketball athletes.
In the sensitive phase of pre-adolescence, athletes may also be devastated by the intensity of this difficult period that preceded them (basketball – lessons and training).
The pressure and resistance of water during the swimming program is of great importance for the “economic” function of the cardiovascular system and the increase in respiratory organ function.
In the content of the exercises, besides swimming styles, children practice specialized balls exercises to improve the balance of their body and their technique, with the ability to provide water with their freedom of movement.
This program lasts from 2 to 4 weeks with a frequency of 2 or 3 workouts per week and each swimming training unit lasts from 60 to 80 minutes.
