One kid and two basketballs.
Two human emotions.
One ball expresses “Love” which defines the most beautiful interaction between all the creatures.
The other ball expresses “Hope”.
On the expectation, the expectation that one day, we will hear about all the children who face their own particular difficulties, the message of rehabilitation.
The course of “Jump Balls of Love” continues. It started a night of April 5, 2016, when I watched the short film “The routine”.
The film has been awarded the Best History Award, the Short for the Month February 2015 (India), the Award for Disabilities in Rome at the Asfilm Festival and the Best Female Performance at the 5th Digital Festival of Athens (Photini Demiri).
The screening took place at the “Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation” at the initiative of the Special Primary School for children with autism in Piraeus.
After showing the feelings and thoughts, they led me to the arms of Michael. Within this embrace the idea of ”Love Jambol” was born. In a few days, the 1st game was a fact.
“Jump Ball of Love” was born, the modified form of the Italian Baskin, a game I had the opportunity to meet in Italy and learn about the process of play by friend journalist Michele Talamazzi.
I kept the philosophy of the game.
But I adapted through the message “All different but all of us” the simultaneous presence in a basketball game for all children.
With or without mental retardation, they play together and enjoy the joy of reaching baskets!
A basketball game without score, but with applause and love.
With smile and optimism.
Such smiles and optimism from many people, I saw today at the closing ceremony of PAO BC Academy.
I would like to thank all the children of the academy, the parents, the coaches, the management of OTE Panathinaikos, for the preparation and realization of the 15th “Jump of Love” game.
Thanks to PAO BC Academy’s Head Coach, Giorgos Kalaitzis, for his emotional speech at the end of the match.
The course continues. We do not stop here.
With a common vision and cooperation, we will give all children more opportunities to play basketball.
Good reassurance on the pitch!
